What are the benefits of a water softener?

After you’ve finished installing a water softener, the water coursing through the veins of the home (i.e. the plumbing) is now soft.

The benefits of water softeners are many, and include:

  • Easier cleaning – no more hard water stains on fixtures, appliances, or clothing

  • Less soap and detergent required

  • Increased longevity of water-using appliances (no mineral buildup on their insides!)

  • Softer skin and hair

  • Cleaner, spotless dishes and cutlery

  • And more…

How Do Water Softeners Work?

We build your water softener system from the ground up in house, right here in Florida.

Hard water is softened by removing the calcium and magnesium it contains. When hard water passes through the water softening system's resin bed, the calcium and magnesium (hardness) ions are removed through an ion exchange process, so only softened water passes through to your home.  Once the resin bed fills up with hardness ions, it must be regenerated (cleaned).  Salt is typically used in the regeneration process and restores the resin to a "clean" state so the ion exchange process can begin again.

From multi-tank systems powered by the energy of moving water to a more traditional approach, Aqua Pure Solutions has many different water softeners at different price points.

With Florida being ranked as the 2nd worst water in the U.S., a water softener and water filtration system has never been more important! We help residents all throughout Southwest Florida get clean, healthy water in their homes.

The best way to soften water is to use a water softener unit that connects directly to the main water supply of the house, like the one shown below.

Your Aqua Pure Solutions water expert will work with you to choose the water softener that's right for you.

How do you know if you have hard water?

  1. Your water takes forever to heat up or you’ve prematurely had to replace water-using appliances.

  2. Your faucets and fixtures have a white residue that’s hard to remove. That’s limescale buildup and it’s accumulating in your pipes and water using appliances.

  3. Your skin and hair is dry and dull.

  4. Your whites are grey after washed.

  5. Your brights have lost their luster.

  6. Your drinking glasses & stemware have spots on them – unless you use a ton of chemical spot remover in the dishwasher.
